I am a Core Process Psychotherapist with more than twenty years of experience working in mental health. I have a background in Complementary and Alternative Medicine as a practitioner of Naturopathy and Medical Herbalism, and as a health and wellness practitioner in the Social Care sector.
My interest in studying psychotherapy stems from a desire to understand myself and the people around me, and my therapeutic work alongside others.
I am Greek by birth and perceive the world and humanity from an integrated perspective where people, nature, and all life events are interrelated. The view that everything in the world is connected with everything else is ingrained in the culture I was raised in. I still find the ancient Greek guiding principle of “Know Thyself”, meaning “Know Yourself”, very inspirational. An important insight I gained in my personal journey as a spiritual seeker is the importance of the body-mind connection. This understanding led me to pursue psychotherapy training that uses a psychospiritual approach.
I moved from Greece to Edinburgh back in 2013, and I have greatly enjoyed living here since.
I trained in Core Process Psychotherapy at master's level at the Karuna Institute in partnership with Middlesex University. I am registered with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO), and I am a fully accredited member of the UK Council for Psychotherapists (UKCP) and the Association of Core Process Psychotherapists (ACPP). I follow the Karuna Institute and the United Kingdom Council for Psychotherapy Codes of Practice and Ethics.
